Runway Fashion | 15 Coat Trends for Fall / Winter 2014-2015
Top must-have every woman needs for this winter? The statement coat that will make us look fashionable and keep us warm through the frigid months ahead! For Fall/Winter 2014-2015 the top trends are not only about comfort and cosiness but most importantly about expressing your style personality. It shouldn’t be difficult! This season, the runways are literally flooded with a wide range of trendy outerwear pieces from leather jackets (Rag and Bone) to rain coats and waterproof parkas (Ralph Lauren), from classic (Lacoste) to eccentric (Dennis Bosso), shapeless (DKNY) to fitted cut (Richard Chai), XXL (Concept Korea) to short coat-capes (Carolina Herrera), clean (Noon by Noor) or patterned (Custo Barcelona). Simply speaking: sportswear, wool, fur, and shearling in every possible iteration. Whether it’s bold colours, or experimentation with texture, it made me really excited about the possibilities that designers have presented for this fall.
Fur is one of the biggest trends this season. It is definitely a great investment piece to keep you warm this winter, however a bit pricey. So if you’re committed to jump on this trend, simply go faux. Activewear, parkas and rain coats again walked down the runways. Subtly combining fashion and function, style and practicality, they show no signs of slowing down. What else? Oversized jackets, even exaggeratedly, black and white classics, optical monochrome, geometric, jacquard, animal prints, graphic bobs and pastel colors in a variety of lengths from extremely long and blanket-like to knee length swing styles.
Straight off the runways, here’s a look at the top 15 coat trends for the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 that hit fashion stores. If designer outerwear is too much for your budget (and I guess it might be;)), choose from one of the budget-friendly, high street alternatives I located.
